President, Fort Lincoln New Town Corporation
Michele V. Hagans is president and chief executive officer of Fort Lincoln New Town Corporation, Inc. and Fort Lincoln Realty Company, Inc. She represents one of the few women, and only a fraction of African-American women, to impact the commercial development field. She has single-handedly restructured and further developed her matrix of companies, which focus on an array of real estate and business complexities. As an individual developer, entrepreneur and through strategic partnership alliances, Ms. Hagans has left her mark on almost every quadrant of the District of Columbia.
Ms. Hagans earned four degrees from Howard — the Bachelor of Science in 1973, the Master of Engineering in 1976, the Master of Divinity in 2006, and the Doctorate of Divinity in 2013. She earned the Master’s in Business Administration from George Washington University in 1994. Ms. Hagans is a Certified Property Manager and is a licensed real estate broker in the District of Columbia and the State of Maryland.
Ms. Hagans also maintains a lengthy record of community service. She presently serves on the boards of directors the Venture Philanthropy Partners, Inc., College Success Foundation, and the Federal City Council. She is a member of an array of organizations which include The Economic Club of Washington, World Presidents’ Organization and International Women’s Forum of Washington. Ms. Hagans has received numerous awards and has been thrice named Business Person of the Year, The Greater Washington Board of Trade’s 2006 Leader of the Years, and most recently received the 2013 Economic Impact Award from the DC Chamber of Commerce and a 2013 Achievement Award presented by the District of Columbia Building Industry Association.
