Board Member, Fight For Children
Since 2002, Joseph E. Robert III has served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and recently served a tour of duty in Iraq. He is currently a student at American University in Washington, DC. As a Reconnaissance Marine (the Special Operations Capable force of United States Marine Corps), Mr. Robert has advanced training in leadership, communication, and combat life saving skills. Mr. Robert served as an Assistant Team leader within his unit with responsibility for maintaining overall accountability of all team members. He also served as a navigator and radio operator. He was a Chief Instructor within the Marine Corps, with responsibility for developing training schedules, rules, and regulations for up to 70 students. Mr. Robert has received numerous awards from the military, including a Certification of Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, and a Global War on Terror Service Medal. He serves as a board member of the Youth Leadership Foundation, a DC-based not-for-profit organization that serves disadvantaged young people by boosting academic performance, while developing their moral character.
Mr. Robert graduated from Quigley Catholic High School in Baden, Pennsylvania in 1998 and attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington, DC.
