- In 2007, published inaugural edition of My School Chooser, a user-friendly tool to help families determine the best educational opportunities for their children.
- Launched its Parent Leadership Institute in 2007 to promote quality education in the District of Columbia by empowering parents and caregivers to be better stewards of their children’s schooling.
- In 2006, released a study entitled, State of the District of Columbia Charter School Sector 2006: A Ten-Year Review to assess the impact of the charter school community in the District of Columbia.
- Developed the DC Family Education Network in 2006 which encourages parents’ active participation in seeking, securing and sustaining a high quality education for their children.
- Initiated the effort to establish the District of Columbia Public Charter School Association in 2004.
- At the request of the U.S. Secretary of Education, in 2004 led the launch of the nation’s first federally-funded K-12 independent school scholarship program.
- In 2003, Led a coalition of business, education, and government leaders to secure an unprecedented $195 million (over 5 years) in new federal funding to expand quality traditional public, charter public and independent school options for underserved families in the nation’s capital.
- Fight for Children Chairman Joseph E. Robert, Jr. led Children’s National Medical Center’s $301 million capital campaign on behalf of Fight For Children in 2001.
- Launched School Night in 1998, the premier fundraising event for education in Washington, DC, drawing more that 1,100 attendees.
- In 1997, Endowed the Fight For Children Chair of Academic Medicine and Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Mark L. Batshaw, M.D., at Children’s National Medical Center.
- In 1990, Launched signature fundraising event, Fight Night, which has drawn over 2,200 of the nation’s top leaders in business, government, sports and entertainment each year.
